Protection forests
Forests are the face of Austria and a life!
To the living and economic area in the Alpine valleys of the many natural hazards such as avalanches, mudflows, rockfalls, landslides, etc. to protect, protection forests are indispensable. They are the most sustainable and cost effective protection variant. Maintaining stable and healthy forests is therefore a central concern, not only of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Environment and Water Management, but is also in cooperation with all the space users.
