Collecting mushrooms

There are more than 100,000 mushroom species world-wide. In Europe, about 4,000 to 5,000 species have been identified as so-called “macromycetes”. To many friends of mushrooms, collecting mushrooms is not only a much-liked and popular leisure activity, but also offers a sometimes underrated recreation value. The pleasures of strolling around in forests and open meadows and the feeling of success to have found an edible mushroom are a very special experience of nature.
